True to the Quaker mission of peaceful service to society, members of our religious community do not leave people alone in need, even in our difficult times.
The Quakers visited Mrs. Kateryna – a retired woman, a writer and a needlework and embroidery artist who lives in Kyiv, in Obolon.
Unfortunately, at the end of last year, trouble came to the family. Mrs. Kateryna’s son, a former soldier who participated in resistance to Russian aggression, had a nervous breakdown and required hospitalization.
For some time Mrs. Kateryna could not cook herself a meal or even heat a cup of water, living in a multi-story building almost in the center of the capital of Ukraine.
After learning about this, the Quakers of our community, together with caring neighbors, found an electric stove for Mrs. Kateryna, repaired it and installed it in Mrs. Kateryna’s apartment, helped with food and repaired the drain siphon in the bathroom.
We keep Mrs. Kateryna and her son in the Light. We will visit her and help her in this difficult time as much as possible.
If you also want to support Mrs. Kateryna practically or spiritually, you can contact us or join our Meeting for Worship.
